PASADENA, CALIFORNIA BRANCH
DATE & TIME: Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, 11:30 AM check-in, followed by meeting, lunch, and program.
We welcome our hardy campers who have finished this summer’s Tech Trek, and their family members, at our lunch on Saturday, September 16th, at Pasadena’s Women’s City Club. We look forward to hearing of their adventures at Whittier College from June 24 to July 1. The six-day camp lets these Middle School students explore the STEM universe (science, technology, engineering, and math), with hands-on problem solving and women role models. Each girl’s story provides her own take on this adventure, reflecting their individual life experiences, the subjects of most interest, and their new friendships. This Tech Trek program, traditionally presented in September, is always enjoyable, fun and touching.
We will also have a short report from a member who attended the National AAUW convention in Washington, D.C. in June and a short presentation about an AAUW public policy issue.
