STEM Savvy 2022

STEM Savvy: Girls’ Science Day
Sat. April 23, 2022, 9 am – noon

STEM Savvy: Girls’ Science Day was a morning conference for 6th – 9th grade girls held on Saturday, April 23, 2020, 9 a.m. – noon,  at Pasadena City College. STEM Savvy is a fun filled morning of hands-on activities designed to develop girls’ interest and self-confidence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines. This year’s return of STEM Savvy after 2 years absence due to COVID was a great success. Thanks to everyone who volunteered and to all the girls and their families for attending. We have some great photos to share and will post them soon. We are looking forward to next year and will have information available in the Spring of 2023.

We will have an exciting program of hands-on STEM activities. Girls will visit different booths and participate in activities led by women working in fields as diverse as paleontology, biology, optics, and aerospace. Women presenters from many great institutions such as CalTech,  Natural History Museum, Carnegie Observatories, City of Hope, HMRI and Pasadena City College.  And a booth where girls can hear how college students in STEM majors choose their path and what they’ve experienced.
